Wastewater Treatment

The Owner was defended against the GC’s claim related to construction of a wastewater facility.  An Expert Report was issued that included a detailed schedule analysis demonstrating that the GC was only entitled to 20% of its claimed damages,  which was then offered to the GC.  Assistance was provided during a one year period of negotiations, resulting in the GC going bankrupt and the surety accepting the original offer.

Water Treatment

Project Management assistance was provided to the JV for this 130MGD water treatment plant.  Planning, scheduling, estimating, budgeting, and contract administration from design through bidding for the project was also provided.  During the design, coordination of the design work by the JV and its subconsultants was performed.  During bidding the construction contracting plan was developed to divide the work into separate contracts for the reservoir, plant, and pumping station. The project management and progress reporting requirements included in the contracts for the various construction package were also developed.

Scrubbers

An Owner selected a supplier (EPC) to furnish and install a new dry scrubber for a coal-burning power plant.  The EPC changed the lime hydration system, and the contractor installing the system made a claim for increased costs allegedly due to the new equipment.  An evaluation of the changes to foundations, steel, piping, electrical, and instrumentation, was made and included in an Expert Report used by the EPC in successful negotiations with the Owner.
